Rise Against Hunger Campaign

We are delighted to announce that our Langley Pyramid Rise Against Hunger campaign is back! We are on pace to package our one-millionth meal at this annual Langley Pyramid service learning event. Students will be bringing home a small collection container that they can use to collect any change and/or bills that your family would like to donate to this important cause. Students are encouraged to earn money for donations by completing acts of service around the house. This can include a wide range of items and/or families can elect to make simple donations instead, the choice is yours!

In order to accomplish our one-millionth meal this year, the Langley pyramid must raise enough money to purchase 82,080 meals and this equates to $34,475.  Each meal costs only 42 cents to make. For just $15, you can donate over 35 meals; $30 will make over 71 meals and $100 will make nearly 240 meals.

Donations will be collected each morning before school between January 14 and January 31. We encourage all our students to donate as they collect donations and turn them in as often as they can.  We will have a collection table in our Front Lobby.

To reach our one-millionth meal, families may elect to help support through online donations. If your company matches contributions, please consider having them join you in making a tax-deductible donation today at Langley Pyramid Rise Against Hunger 2025 and help us Rise Against Hunger.

Forestville is thrilled that this event is more than a fundraiser but also a true service-learning project. On Saturday, February 1, 2025, students and families in the Langley Pyramid are joining at Colvin Run Elementary School to prepare the 82,080 meal packages for schools and orphanages worldwide.

Volunteer for the event:

Register and volunteer for the event using this link

Enter your Last Name and Enter "Quantity" as the number of volunteers in your party attending. If for any reason you need to cancel, please cancel through the Sign-up Genius to make those slots available to other Langley pyramid families. Being a popular Langley pyramid event, please sign up as volunteer slots will fill up quickly. Children ages 4-12 must be accompanied by an adult. On the day of the event, volunteers package meals based on the amount of money raised, so it is recommended that if you wish to volunteer for the event, please make a monetary donation.

Thank you in advance for your consideration and participation! We will be providing updates to students about funds raised and numbers of meals provided over the morning announcements!
